About Me
Hi and welcome to my website! I'm happy to bring more
than 20 years experience as a dance educator/choreographer to your service. Dance is empowering, it nurtures body mind and spirit, through transformative collaboration and performance. Dance isn't about being pretty, its about embodiment, claiming the inherent power that has resided within you all along...
I hold a Master of Fine Arts in
Dance from California Institute of the Arts, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in
Dance from California State University Long Beach, and certification as
a Yoga Instructor, Somatics and Movement Therapist from the Natural Healing
Institute. My choreography has been presented to great acclaim nationally
and internationally, including at the celebrated Fringe Festival in
Edinburgh Scotland. I have served on the
faculty of California State University Pomona, Mira Costa College, Santiago
Canyon College, Santa Ana College, and Rio Hondo College. I am the Artistic Director of Practice As Research
And Dance Experiments (PARADE), the vehicle for my creative research that investigates
performance theory and practice at the intersection of choreography and
somatics, with present work in contemporary partnering and site-specific
performance. I am a member of Americans
for the Arts' Action Fund, the National Dance Educators Organization, and the
California Dance Educators Association. I
have also served as a Panel Adjudicator for the Carlsbad Arts Commission's
Community Arts Grant.
